Alida grew up in a small country town in South Australia where she began piano lessons at the age of 7. She started teaching beginner piano students while still in high school and now has over 7 years of experience working in schools and music studios.

Alida has completed a Bachelor of Music in Classical Performance at the Elder Conservatorium in Adelaide, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She has also combined her passions for music and health and is currently in her final year of a Masters of Music Therapy at the University of Melbourne.

In 2018 Alida organised a show at the Adelaide Fringe with her sister, who is a classically trained singer. Their show ‘The History of The Musical’ covered a range of genres and both performances were sold out. She has twice been invited to play at Government House in South Australia for the Governor His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le for official functions.

Alida is classically trained and most comfortable teaching and playing this style, but she has also played quite a bit of musical theatre and popular repertoire - especially accompanying singers.

Alida incorporates practical, theory, sight reading and aural into each lesson so students develop into well rounded musicians who are able to engage in music making and listening in many different ways in their own lives. Each student has different interests and ways of learning and Alida adjusts her teaching style and methods to suit the individual.

Alida is comfortable teaching a wide range of ages and ability levels; from young children to adults and beginners to advanced students. She passionately believes that students learn best when they find lessons engaging and enjoyable and are encouraged to achieve their own musical goals.
